Python Software Engineer
Do you want to build a scalable and sustainable infrastructure?
We're looking for a Python Software Engineer who wants to build and enable data-driven services that will help tens of thousands of companies to deliver digital post and receipts to millions of users.
About Kivra
At Kivra, we are building services that connect almost 6 million people, by providing a safe and accessible digital infrastructure that everyone in Sweden can trust and use. At the same time, we are saving trees - reducing the paper that is printed and transported - by providing a better digital alternative to physical paper communication.
What you'll do
You will join a small data team consisting of engineers, scientists and analysts, that are responsible for building and maintaining resilient and scalable data infrastructure. You will work closely with the other data engineers in the team. Our team works in English, and this is also the primary language used in Kivra.
Our services are built on the Google Cloud Platform, and process data from various internal and external systems. This data is used for, amongst others, business intelligence, reporting and billing. Data is stored in Google BigQuery and visualized using Tableau.
Your role will be to help develop and build, maintain and improve this data platform. You will be working closely with different teams to help solve data problems, designing and building solutions. You’ll develop both new and existing services.
Who you are
You believe in designing and building robust, scalable systems that are easily refactorable when requirements change. Things like event-driven architecture, automation, CI/CD, infrastructure as code are close to your heart and how you like to work. We use Terraform for managing our infrastructure-as-code, and use Github Actions for CI/CD, and Kubernetes/Docker for deploying services. We mainly use Python for building our data services.
You may not have a background working with data, but are interested in this area.
You want to join a young team, and work hands-on in a high-paced environment with fast decision making. You are analytical and like solving problems. You are interested in working within the data domain, and have good development practices under your belt.
Furthermore we think that you:
Have the relevant experience and qualifications
Have experience working in cloud environments (we use Google Cloud Platform)
Have experience in programming (we use mostly Python)
Are familiar with Kafka (or similar), and the principles and concepts of event-driven architecture; and can help drive good practices within Kivra (event creation and domain models)
Are familiar with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD, and have worked in an environment which utilized this in your daily work
This role requires that you are physically working from within the EU.
It's an added bonus if you:
Have experience working with Google Cloud Platform (Kubernetes, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, BigQuery etc.)
Have good knowledge of SQL
We offer
Kivra offers a role in a caring and committed team, in a company that is growing and continuously innovating. You’ll join a warm and friendly culture that thrives on collaboration and teamwork. You will be involved in shaping and influencing a product currently used by more than half of Sweden’s population.
We offer competitive remuneration and great benefits. Moreover, we offer a hybrid way of working where working from home is of course accepted, however, you are always welcome to join us in our vibrant office located in central Stockholm.
